All new Civil Air Patrol
members over 18 join the officer program (formerly know as the
senior program). As the United States Air Force Auxiliary,
Civil Air Patrol officers use the same rank as Air Force
officers to denote their advancement through the program and
their experience as CAP officers (click
here for a chart of CAP ranks).
Similar to their Air
Force counterparts, Civil Air Patrol officers learn and apply
valuable skills such as leadership, duty and honor, mentorship,
and aerospace education as they promote, no matter what job
responsibilities they perform within Civil Air Patrol.
Each promotion comes with more responsibility, but also with the
satisfaction and pride that can only come from service to your
community and nation.
The knowledge and skills
you learn while serving in the USAF Auxiliary don't only apply
to Civil Air Patrol. They can be applied to all aspects of
your life. They will make you a better employee or boss, a
better volunteer, a better professional and parent, a better
citizen.
